The Freedom of Humility
God opposes the proud
They’re set in their ways
They think they’re in charge
of their limited days
He gives grace to humble
Who acknowledge their need
When we humble ourselves
Our souls are freed
From the need to be right
And have our own way
Yielding to God
Trusting day by day
Finding our place
Before our Creator
To know we are dust
is an ego deflator
Humility the key
To living in freedom
No longer bound
By the world of “me”-dom
